ABOUT US
Hello, I’m Sally and I have been around animals since I was a small child. I have shared my home with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, chickens, chinchillas, rabbits and bees. I always enjoy learning new things and have completed courses for Beekeeping and Animal First Aid at Hartpury College as well as attending obedience classes with my dogs up to Kennel Club Gold.
As well as being a qualified teacher with a full DBS, I have completed a 6 month Scentwork Qualification with School of Canine Science, am Qualified to run Odour Recognition Tests and Judge Trials through the National Nosework Association and to run Nosework Games.
I have completed a Dynamic Dog Qualification through Rural Skills England to help you with identifying possible Physical Issues with your Dog and a Level 5 Canine Behaviour Management with Compass Education.
As a member of ABTC I am also required to continually update my knowledge on training dogs methods and have even worked with Alpaca and various monkeys/apes with Paignton Zoo. I also regularly attend CPD events with Gwen Bailey and Puppy School as well as taking my own dogs to a variety of training sessions from Gundog work to Mantrailling and Scentwork sessions.

I am qualified with the School of Canine Science to deliver Scentwork courses and be a Blue Level Judge for competitions and by Kennel Club for the Good Citizen Dog Scheme as well as an ORT Assessor and Judge for the National Nosework Association.
I share my home with my husband Mark and our two dogs. Harry our Golden Retriever came along in 2014. He runs the show and has gone from being pesky little brother to annoyed big brother, having been ousted as cute puppy by younger brother Milo who arrived in 2016. Milo is a bright and mischievous Golden Retriever who keeps us on our toes and has taught me so much more about behaviour and training and loves to compete in Scentwork Trials
In our home animals come first, ask any of our friends who try to find a space on the sofa !
I love training and to be able to pass on the knowledge I have gained to enable positive relationships between dogs and their owners through the use of positive rewards and fun learning environments.

We found the whole experience from booking the classes to attending them was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Puppy School. Our instructor, Sally Hammond, was very knowledgeable, empathetic and approachable. She was inclusive and supportive.

Thank you Sally for all your help, advice and encouragment. Teddy is missing you already ...or is it your chicken treats
